FAMILY

Proverbs 6:16-19(NKJV) ¹⁶ These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: ¹⁷ A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,
¹⁸ A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, ¹⁹ A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

            Husbands

Proverbs 5:15-18(NKJV) ¹⁵ Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well.  ¹⁶ Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets?  ¹⁷ Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you.  ¹⁸ Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Proverbs 18:22(NKJV) ²² He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 19:14(NKJV) ¹⁴ Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord.

            Wives

Proverbs 2:17-18(NKJV) ¹⁷ Who forsakes the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God. ¹⁸ For her house leads down to death, And her paths to the dead;

Proverbs 11:22(NKJV) ²² As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, So is a lovely woman who lacks discretion.

Proverbs 12:4(NKJV) ⁴ An^£ excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 14:1(NKJV) ¹ The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Proverbs 19:13(NKJV) ¹³ A foolish son is the ruin of his father, And the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.

Proverbs 21:9(NKJV) ⁹ Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Proverbs 27:15-16(NKJV) ¹⁵ A continual dripping on a very rainy day And a contentious woman are alike; ¹⁶ Whoever restrains her restrains the wind, And grasps oil with his right hand.

Proverbs 12:26(NKJV) ²⁶ The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Proverbs 13:20(NKJV) ²⁰ He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Proverbs 17:17(NKJV) ¹⁷ A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 18:24(NKJV) ²⁴ A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 22:24, 25(NKJV) ²⁴ Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go, ²⁵ Lest you learn his ways And set a snare for your soul.

Proverbs 27:6(NKJV) ⁶ Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Proverbs 27:9(NKJV) ⁹ Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel.

Proverbs 27:10(NKJV) ¹⁰ Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.

Proverbs 27:14(NKJV) ¹⁴ He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, It will be counted a curse to him.

Proverbs 27:17(NKJV) ¹⁷ As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
